Following a teaching career Geraldine Raison worked for fifteen years as a Senior International Liaison Officer and a Graduate Admissions Officer at the University of Warwick. During this time she worked with students in over 30 countries visiting many international schools and universities to inform them about study opportunities in the UK university system and more specifically, how to get into one of the top ten UK institutions. As an Admissions Officer Geraldine gained a valuable insight into what universities are looking when identifying the best students and how a student can make a compelling and successful university application. Geraldine left the university to set up her business as an independent UK university adviser in 2009. She took a Postgraduate Certificate in Career Guidance in 2013 and now acts as a Career and University Adviser for a school in Western Australia as well as working as an education consultant for Shell families posted overseas as well as a number of international students based in India, Russia, the Lebanon, Malaysia, Ukraine, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Doha.
Geraldine is also known as an expert on Home/EU Fee Status for expatriate students and their families. She regularly visits the Middle East to deliver presentations to schools on the Fee Status rules and regulations and what expatriate families need to do to maintain their eligibility for Home/EU fees in the UK universities. Each year Geraldine assists around 60 families gain Home/EU fees rather than being considered as an overseas fee paying student. She remains up to date with the rules and regulations by attending regular training courses run by UKCISA – the body which represents the interests of international students in the UK and those who work with them, and who run training for staff across the UK in areas related to international students including fee status.
Wendy Simmons joined UK Study Options early in 2016 following a successful position for seven years as Career Guidance Officer at King Edward VI Grammar School (KES) in Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire.
