UCAS Workshops

Geraldine Raison was recommended by UCAS to participate in the prestigious YPO College Prep Weekend held in April 2016 in Dubai – the highlight of which was to deliver a UCAS Personal Statement Workshop. The YPO College Prep Weekend was originally to guide students and their families belonging to the global YPO network through the US Ivy League University system to institutions such as Harvard, Yale, Brown and Princeton. The weekend consisted of presentations and interactive workshops headed up by ex-Ivy League Admissions Officers helping parents and students to understand what is involved in the application system and how to approach it strategically and in a timely manner.

Understanding that some students also wanted to apply to highly competitive UK universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, LSE, Durham or Warwick meant that they were looking for someone with a similar profile to that of the Ivy League representatives. Someone with hands-on admissions experience, who can not only advise students and their parents on the UCAS application system but who can help them boost their application in order to be considered for one of the top ranking UK universities. With over 15 years experience of Admissions at the University of Warwick coupled with 7 years of experience as an independent career and UK university adviser Geraldine was able to utilise her skills and knowledge to inform the students and their parents on how to navigate the UK University system, on eligibility requirements, how to write a compelling Personal Statement and how best to approach an application for particular, highly competitive course such as medicine, law or economics or how to make an Oxbridge application.
